Innovation Unit Director to Speak at Youth Achievement Foundation Conference

John Craig, Director of Innovation Exchange at the Innovation Unit, will make the keynote speech at the Youth Achievement Foundation Conference on 30 April.  The Innovation Exchange supports innovation in the third sector and has two areas of focus; excluded young people and independent living.  It aims to help innovators, commissioners and social investors to collaborate in developing leading edge projects.  His speech will look at the growing problem of Neets and how important it will be to address this issue with innovative solutions.

The conference will also look at the Youth Achievement Foundation pilot project at 7KS Enterprise College in North Lincolnshire from a local authority persepective.  Paul Tinsley from North Lincolnshire Council will explain why a local authority has commissioned a Youth Achievement Foundation and how it has helped the local authority support excluded students or those at risk of exclusion and their families in the area.

Chairing the meeting will be Derek Casey, Chair of UK Youth who is currently Interim Chief Executive of the Organising Committee for the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.
